STORY OF THE FIREBALL BLACKSMITH VISE

The vise that went from mistakes to success!

When I first built this prototype vise, I tried adding a hydraulic jack to see if it could work. Almost! The handle was awkward, the setup didn't feel right. That failure led to the production version, the Fireball 208 Blacksmith Floor Vise. The hydraulic system isn't about extreme clamping force; it's about speed and convenience. Quick part changes, smoother operation, and more flexibility. The 208 is designed to work faster, smarter, and more comfortably.

Quick answers

Do I have to bolt it down?

No. At 816 kg it stays put. Bolt holes are there if you want them.

Why not a giant 100 mm screw?

Safety. A 38 mm screw is designed to break first under overload, before anyone gets hurt. If it does, just replace it.

Why a wheel instead of a handle?

It spins like a flywheel and sits where you stand, at the side of the vise.
